Great to have as a guide when visiting the British Museum

I found this guide really useful and informative when visiting the British Museum and would recommend it when looking artifacts associated with the Bible.

Fascinating and informative

This is well written and beautifully presented, which young or old would enjoy - reading straight through or dipping into, as it will give some understanding of the times in which Bible narrative took place. Archaeology throws so much light on the past and confirms Bible records. Just enough information to enlighten but never bore the reader, history or archaeology lover or not. Even if you can't visit the British Museum in person like me, it is still very worthwhile reading. For example, just why Jonah wanted to see the destruction of Nineveh!

Made the museum alive for us

I live in London and regularly visit the British Museum. Visiting in the past I'd been able to make general connections between some of the displays and people/places in the Bible but this book changed my understanding and richly enhanced my times there. I would recommend it for anyone with an interest in the Biblical period who is visiting the museum. (I bought my copy in the museum shop - so they must like it too!).
