Description

Leviticus is possibly the most neglected book in the whole Christian Bible.
That is understandable when the reader is pitched immediately into the details of Jewish ceremony and ritual first recorded three-and-a-half thousand years ago. Like a thick forest on a dark night, we are struggling to find our way through. However, if we avoid getting lost in the detail we will discover much about God’s care for his chosen people and we can follow the clear signposts
to the good news of Jesus Christ—because he is the ultimate destination of Leviticus. This devotional
commentary’ aims to do just that.

Brian Edwards holds a degree in theology from the University of London. He pastored an evangelical church in London before taking on a wider ministry of preaching, lecturing, writing and editing. He is the author of over twenty books and co-authored the best-selling Evidence for the Bible. He is married to Rosie and they live in Bedfordshire and are members at Christ Church Dunstable (FIEC).

Opens up Leviticus clearly with much application

I decided this year to put most daily Bible notes to one side, and instead to begin reading through the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation (without any deadline to finish). Knowing that one or two books would be more challenging than others, I decided to invest in short guidebooks which take one through such books of the Bible day by day, with shorter and hopefully clear explanation and application.

The first book for which I desired help was Leviticus, and I turned to this book by Brian Edwards to assist me. I have not been disappointed. His well-written daily portions bring out the meaning of the text, with much helpful, often searching, application. Edwards writes with years of experience as a pastor and preacher. Gracious, informed, wise, and not afraid to pull his punches. I cannot recommend it too highly.
