Overview
In recent decades, the Christian consensus which laid the foundations for the freedoms, stability and prosperity enjoyed by Western countries has been challenged by an increasingly militant Atheistic Humanism. As a consequence, Christianity has become scorned and held up as a thing to be ridiculed. The God Delusion, by Richard Dawkins, represents perhaps the most brazen attack yet on Christianity. In it he portrays Christianity as unscientific, irrational and even downright evil. The God Reality takes Professor Dawkins’ main arguments and shows the many flaws and falsehoods they contain. It aims to embolden Christians to stand up for their beliefs in the face of an increasingly sceptical and hostile world and to cause atheists to question whether the assumptions which underpin their faith are really as logical and as sound as they think.
Author
Robert Slane was born in Cambridge in 1975. He was brought up in an atheistic home and remained a convinced and fairly militant atheist until about the age of 27. Two years after his conversion, he was given the opportunity to edit and write articles for The Messenger—the magazine for Emmanuel Church, Salisbury, England. It was through a series of pieces critiquing Richard Dawkins’ The God Delusion that the idea for The God Reality was born. He and his wife, Alina, live in Salisbury with their three young children, George, Marta and Joseph.
Endorsements
In this little book, Rob Slane provides a succinct, helpful survey of the many imprecisions and contradictions that proliferate in the muddled mind of an atheist. By a strange twist of irony, Rob has turned Dawkins’ God Delusion into a wonderful apologetic for the Christian faith!

Dawkins’ book is one of several increasingly hostile attacks on the Christian faith. Dawkins himself is probably the best known atheist in Britain today. A gifted writer and communicator he is able to present his case in a way which is convincing to the ignorant. However Rob Slane takes several of his leading arguments, calmly examines them, shows the illogicality of them and provides a biblical answer. The material in the book originally appeared in the Messenger, the magazine of Emmanuel Church, Salisbury and so is designed for the average reader. The author himself was an atheist before his conversion and so writes with understanding and passion. We strongly recommend this book for anyone concerned with these issues.
