Description

By the time of his death in 1981, Martyn Lloyd-Jones had occupied one of the most influential pulpits in London for thirty years, and his ministry had changed the spiritual direction of thousands across the world.

Those who heard and respected him included C S Lewis and the eminent Cambridge historian, G M Trevelyan. Hundreds of students and young pastors found their minds and ministries moulded by his powerful preaching and persuasive wisdom. The largest halls in the land could not hold the people who gathered to hear him.

About the Author:

A native of Wrexham, Philip Eveson obtained his initial degree in Biblical Studies at the University College of North Wales, Bangor. From there, he was awarded a scholarship to read Theology at Selwyn College, Cambridge. He later gained his MTh in Hebrew and Aramaic Studies at King’s College, London and is a member of the Tyndale Fellowship for Biblical research. After ministering for a while in Wales, he moved to London, and he is Resident Tutor and Lecturer in Biblical Languages and Exegesis at the London Theological Seminary.

enjoyable

Martyn Lloyd Jones lived from 1899-1981. Understandably there is much material from which to compile this book and recordings of his preaching are still available. The book contains many photographs of the man and his family and homes. Set our in the same format as others in this 'Travel with' series, Philip Eveson begins with a precis of the man, then starting with his birth, records his progress through life, interspersed with details of the places it is suggested are worth visiting. You are told everything you need to reach these locations, but if you are an armchair traveller like me, you will still enjoy the reading and learn a lot in the process.
